Impulse Point
Exhibited at Nature Created by Design Exhibition
Who can say no to the temptation of free snacks?
This project explores the effects of food impulsivity on human behavior through an interactive installation. Inspired by potato chips, it creates a ‘Snack Point’ where viewers experience a conflict between desire and self- restraint. The installation displays nutritional data highlighting the negative effects of potato chips, juxtaposed with a prominent "Free Snacks" sign that tempts participants.
It observes how individuals, despite being aware of potential health risks, struggle to resist the allure of free snacks, leading to impulsive decisions. This project invites the audience to reflect on the complexities of food cravings, self-control, and the internal conflicts faced when confronted with temptation, fostering a deeper understanding of how impulsivity subtly influences personal decisions and behavior.
