Designer Statement

From a young age, I have been attracted by the calm and powerful way in which posters and advertisements communicate. They convey less information, but inspire the audience's inner thoughts and imagination. These mediums can tell stories without shouting, and this bravery has deeply influenced my design philosophy.

In this age of information inflation, the accessibility of information has left us surrounded by the mundane and the trivial, and the dominant narrative controls our limited lives. The world seems to have lost some of its luster, and people's sensations about life tend to flatten out over time. This observation has significantly influenced my approach to design, inspiring me to create works that delve into the negative spaces of life, those subtle and interesting details hidden in the margins.

My creative process begins with a keen observation of my surroundings, which I document through photography, videos, and sketches. This habit allows me to capture the essence of motion and stillness, phenomena and events, which I then translate into my designs.

In my understanding, design is a process that facilitates change. Designers should continuously explore and examine between macro and micro perspectives. From what the public considers common, they should reveal unprecedented new products and seek different answers. During the design process, I habitually keep my work concise and rational, designing with a clear purpose rather than adding unnecessary elements. I skillfully utilize workshops and various resources to help me refine my designs, making them sophisticated. This includes basic design software like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro. My passion for traditional crafts such as painting, weaving, photography, and editing, which inspire me to innovate methods to complete my projects. I enjoy using unique perspectives and visual methods to express different views on society and events, drawing attention to issues that are often overlooked.

My creative ability to communicate emotions using a unique visual language, transforming complex ideas into compelling visual narratives that connect with the viewer. I believe that every good designer should possess the three qualities of creativity, sensitivity and communication skills. Great designers think outside the box and come up with innovative ideas. They pay attention to small details, including edges and elements that others often overlook. Clear communication is essential for effectively sharing ideas and understanding audience feedback.

Despite the rise of digital media, I believe in the irreplaceable value of traditional print. By exploring the potential of new materials and technologies, I ensure that the print medium maintains its unique position to create elegant, clean and thought-provoking designs.

Ultimately, my goal is to inspire positive change through design, fostering a balance between societal progress and personal growth. I believe that design can reveal new perspectives, challenge norms, and inspire deeper thinking, making it an essential and transformative force in the world. Through my work, I strive to uncover life's hidden margins, offering a fresh perspective that encourages reflection and meaningful communication.
