    #ARMOR

#Armor is a wearable installation that visualizes the invisible weight of aesthetic expectations imposed by social media. Drawing from the metaphor of digital conformity, the piece transforms algorithm-driven ideals into a physical structure that users must wear, thus experiencing the pressure firsthand.

The dense, modular form of the armor reflects how curated online identities often obscure individuality. It offers both a sense of protection and restriction, highlighting the dual role social platforms play in offering visibility while enforcing conformity.

When worn, the armor limits movement and partially obscures the wearer’s face, simulating the silent burden of maintaining a “likeable” digital self. By embodying these tensions, #Armor serves as a critique of hashtag culture, influencer aesthetics, and the performative demands placed on adolescent users navigating online identity.
